Boom. Most complicated things can be boiled down to simple, irrefutable truths. Not a single trainer or coach will deny that you must adhere to the fundamentals to see progress.

But coaching is knowing when, where, why, and how to apply the right tools and principles. It's a combination of having the right skills, expertise, and experience to make the right tweaks to move the needle.
Training can be cookie-cutter (that doesn't mean it should be)--coaching cannot.

The Grand Rapids Business Journal recently interviewed Brian about Motive Training, our non-profit (Move With Purpose), and our goal to open another location. Here's a blurb from the article (link in bio!)

Murray said one thing he noticed was a lack of clear industry standards for personal training. He set out to iron out those standards and do things a little differently at his own gym, he said.

"Everything that we're doing is actually customized to each person … and we do things a little more specialized as well," Murray said. "If someone has any specific aches or pains, we dive into those. We also go through more rigorous education and make sure we have the right certifications."

Client connections also are important to Murray.

"I want to make sure everyone feels valued and make sure that everyone is aware of how much we care about them," he said. "We want to be personal trainers to the fullest extent of what that means."

🚨 Client Spotlight 🚨

HUGE shoutout to Andrew for losing over 80 pounds in the last year. It's safe to say, his life has permanently changed for the better, and we couldn't be happier for him.

Here is what Andrew had to say,

"Overall, my experience was great. It was a bit rough starting out since I had never done it before and was therefore bad at everything, but the encouragement and the environment really helped get me past that. I don't think I would have had anywhere close to as much success if I had gone with one of the snake oil training places [😂😂😂]. You've got a great team. It's such a good atmosphere, which really makes it easy for me to keep on track."

We're a movement-focused gym, but that doesn't mean we can't help you change your life. That's not to say we're taking credit for Andrew's freaking incredible transformation; just that if you need help changing, we can be one of the catalysts.
