What makes motive training different?
Motive Training uses the best movement and assessment practices known to personal trainers in the fitness industry: Functional Range Conditioning (FRC).
FRC is a world-recognized system that will help you build muscle, improve joint mobility, and look and feel healthier than ever. Our entire staff has more than one FRC-based certification, from performing assessments to movement coaching.
We give you all the tools and coaching you need to improve how to move for good.
There was no standard, so we set one.
Our Five Tenets
1. Move with purpose
2. do more with less
3. No pain = More gain
4. Leave better than you came
5. Always be a student

FAQ
We want to work with highly committed individuals, such as yourself, who understand the value of top-notch training and coaching. Motive has repeatedly brought our client’s success, and we want to be there when YOU crush your mobility and strength goals.
Our programs vary based on location. For example, starting packages in Grand Rapids are around $300 per month, while Austin’s are $400 per month. Ideally, you train 2-3 times per week, but we’re happy to see you as often as you can make work with your schedule.
We can work with practically anyone, including those just starting on their fitness journeys or with particular injuries or medical conditions; our staff is educated and experienced in training pretty much anyone. So if you want to improve your body or how it moves, we can find a way to help, and we can even help you improve your injuries or physical conditions as long as it’s in conjunction with your medical team.
From the moment you walk in the door, we will evaluate and assess you on a completely individual level. Our intake process is thorough because we want to see what we can do to help you improve the inside out. Expect to sit down for 60-90 minutes to run through your goals and a thorough physical evaluation.
Once we have the information we need, we will plan to get you where you need to go. We will set goals, take the appropriate progress tracking measurements, and then hit the ground running. You can expect to train with us at least twice per week, and you will receive programming that we encourage you to do outside of Motive Training.
This will greatly depend on your starting point and your goals. We’re not a quick-fix gym, so you shouldn’t expect things to change overnight. However, we’re dead set on giving you the tools and coaching you need to see results, so you will see changes within the first 1-3 months’ worth of training.
Many run-of-the-mill gyms offer trainers with different levels (e.g., you can work with a level 1 trainer versus a level 5 trainer). However, we set the bar higher because we believe you deserve the best service possible in our facilities no matter who you train with. So, our entire staff is certified through Functional Range Conditioning in some capacity. As a result, you will get a similar level of service regardless of the personal trainer we assign to you.
Personal training is the best way to get the body and results you want; there is no replacement for hands-on personal training. However, we understand that some will do well on their own with the right tools and guidance, so our team can help facilitate progress for those that are better fit for online coaching. Furthermore, online coaching might suit someone with a tighter budget or those not close to our central locations.
The best thing you can do is schedule a call with our team. First, we want to learn more about you and your goals to show you how our personalized services can benefit you. Then, if you’re ready and willing, we will set up a Motive Mobility Screen to review everything you need to get results. From there, we hit the ground running and get you on a path to success via personal training, at-home programming, goal-setting, and more.
It is not required by any means, but we highly recommend the FRA® if you have joint pain, injuries, movement issues, or anything along those lines. The FRA® is a full exploration of your body and will give us a lot more information to work with regarding your personal training journey. We will still cover some of the FRA® in our 90-minute Motive Mobility Screen, but it won’t be as in-depth on a physical level because time won’t allow for it.
